Alison Hinson has amassed over 20 years of experience as a financial analyst working with corporations, non-profit organizations, and helping individuals with their personal finances.
She began her professional career in the financial services industry as an intern at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City and Paris. After relocating to central Ohio, Alison worked at several large banks expanding her experience to include Trust, Credit Card Services, and Corporate Lending. Drawn to all that southern Maine had to offer, Alison work in the sales and technical departments of Wright Express, a corporate payment processing company. More recently, she held various financial positions with L.L. Bean.
Alison currently produces and hosts a weekly personal finance program called “Money Talks” on Greater Portland Community Radio (WMPG.org, 90.9 and 104.1). After only four months on the air, “Money Talks” received an award from the Maine Association of Broadcasters. She has also been actively involved with her community as a fundraiser, manager of community projects, and Treasurer for a number of non-profits in both Ohio and Maine.
Alison has served as an adjunct business faculty member at Ohio University, Franklin University, and the University of Southern Maine, teaching Accounting, Finance, and Business. As a presenter, she has been invited to speak at the Maine HR Conference, USM’s Women in Management Conference, Maine Medical Center’s Maine Health symposium, and at many other diverse organizations throughout Maine. In addition to public speaking, Alison is also a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in several publications such as Rescue Magazine and Best Ever You.
Alison graduated from Denison University with a BA in Economics and received her Master of Business Administration degree from Ohio University.
